The goldfish tells the story of how Mandy adopted and loved him, but then began to pay less and less attention to him. He is tortured by her lack of enthusiasm and by her cat and her brother, David. Then Mandy comes to the realization herself…she killed the goldfish by not paying attention to him.

Rob Jorgensen talks about "Sunset Bowlawater":
"To make the goldfish sound like he was really underwater, I mixed the sound of a bubble with each syllable he said."
More from the production engineer on "Long Way Home":
"If you listen carefully while Aubrey is babysitting, you'll hear the episode 'Real Time' on the television in the background." Nice touch!
